This gallery features a Sierra Pacific Industries Timber Harvest Plan on the lost coast in Humboldt County. This plan proposes to clear cut residual old growth Douglas fir forest that is home to many species in decline. Rare species present in the harvest areas include Spotted Owl, Sonoma (Red) tree vole, Mountain beaver, Golden eagle, Coho and Chinook salmon and Steelhead trout.
